The Donegal Down Syndrome Association is an organisation founded by parents to support members with Down Syndrome so that they experience full inclusion within the community and freedom of autonomy in their lives.

Whether a family is expecting a baby or celebrating the birth of a child with Down Syndrome, this organisation is here to provide help and support. As an association, and as parents themselves, they are aware that this journey is not without its unique challenges and new experiences, but the Donegal Down Syndrome Association are well equipped for these things.

They understand how incredibly important it is that those with Down Syndrome have the opportunity to develop social and practical skills, and they also understand that early intervention and continuous support is essential in allowing their members to reach their full potential. The association provides a large range of services such as speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, swimming lessons, music and dance, ability counts, life skills, literacy and even yoga!

You can find other information regarding all of the above services by heading over to their new website - donegalds.ie. This is a bilingual website, the development of which was supported and funded by the Business Support Scheme of Foras na Gaeilge.

You can also contact the Donegal Down Syndrome Association on 074 910 3527, donegalds@gmail.com, or by calling into 4 Garda House, High Road, Letterkenny F92 TX3X.
