Bhà am ar dóigh ag Daidà na Nollag nuair a tháinig sé ar cuairt chuig Feirm Bhaile Uà Thuatháile anuraidh, am chomh speisialta sin go raibh lúcháir air teacht ar ais arÃs i mbliana chun bualadh le páistà Dhún na nGall agus úsáid a bhaint as a chuid Gaeilge leo! Chuir an scéal seo gliondar an domhain ar pháistà na háite, agus bhà nÃos mó ná seasca acu ag iarraidh bualadh leis an fhear mór é féin an deireadh seachtaine seo thart. Ar dtús, bhà deis ag na teaghlaigh cupán tae, caife, agus ar ndóigh, seacláid the galánta, a fháil i siopa na feirme sula ndeachaigh siad isteach chuig an phluais. Leis na soilse geala ag preabarnach, na maisiúcháin Nollag le feiceáil in achan áit, agus fiú sÃofraà Dhaidà na Nollag ón Phol Thuaidh i láthair chun cuidiú a thabhairt, atmaisféar thar a bheith speisialta a bhà ann. Chaith Saintà neart ama leis na páistÃ, agus b’iontach an rud é Gaeilge a chloisteáil óna phluais. D’fhág na páistà sona sásta le bronntanais ina lámha acu, ach nÃos sásta arÃs mar go raibh an deis acu bualadh agus labhairt le Daidà na Nollag. Agus mar gheall ar shiopa na feirme Bhaile Uà Thuatháile, bhà lámha a dtuismitheoirà lán fosta le glasraà úra agus rudaà deasa eile fá choinne dhinnéar na Nollag. Má tá bia ceardaà áitiúil agus glasraà úra galánta ag teastáil uait roimh an Nollaig, buail isteach chuig an siopa seo ar Fheirm Bhaile Uà Thuatháile - ach bà gasta!
Daidà na Nollag had a fantastic trip this time last year when he visited Ballyholey Farm, such a great time that he was delighted to return again this year to meet with children from all over Donegal and use his Irish with them! Local kids were so excited when they heard the news, with more than 60 of them coming to see the man himself last weekend. Firstly, the families headed into the farm shop to get some tea, coffee, and of course delicious hot chocolates, before heading into Santa's grotto. There was an incredible atmosphere here with the beautiful flickering lights, Christmas decorations everywhere, and even Santa's Elves from the North Pole helping out. Santa Claus spent loads of time with the children, and it was lovely to hear all the Gaeilge coming from the grotto. The kids left with big smiles on their faces and presents in the hands, and even happier still for getting the chance to meet and have a chat with Santa. And because of the Ballyholey farm shop, parents also left with hands full of fresh vegetables and other lovely bits for Christmas dinner. If you need some fresh local produce in the lead up to Christmas, we'd highly recommend popping into the Ballyholey farm shop - but remember to be quick!
